What we can do for you

We provide a full design service with accurate scaled plans with hand drawn artist's impressions of your future garden.

We are happy to design small areas, revamp a courtyard, renovate olive groves and vineyards, design pool areas, create much needed shade or undertake full scale garden projects, with fully automated irrigation systems.

In addition, we specialise in easy low maintenance schemes ideal for holiday homes or rented properties.

Planning Ahead

There are a number of particular considerations when planning a garden in Portugal. We have the knowledge and experience of the different climatic conditions, different seasonal variations, ie hotter summers and milder winters, using drought resistant and sub tropical plants and their varying planting times and future care.

Over the years we have got to know many local trades people and the best suppliers and growers, thus ensuring the highest quality standards of plants and materials are used in your garden.

Site Preparation

Certain projects may require the construction of new flower beds and new walls (see pictures right), perhaps needed to define boundaries or to create privacy or shade. On very steep sites, maintaining existing or building new terrace walls means even the most challenging of spaces can be transformed into a beautiful garden. During our long hot Summers, shade in the garden is essential, either using existing trees or creating arbors or pergolas.

All site preparation is either done by JCB or by hand, carefully coordinated to include all aspects of drainage and the installation of irrigation and lighting. Depending on the project, additional good quality topsoil may be added to any new flower beds or lawned areas prior to planting, turfing or seeding.
